Getting Crafty!!

I was at the thrift store the other day and saw this adorable fabric and I thought maybe I could do something with it. I decided to try and make a skirt!
I've always wanted to be able to make my own clothes. I find it soooo much cheaper!
In total for both fabrics was $7! I doubt I would have been able to find this kind of skirt anywhere for $7!!

It was so incredibly easy (for the most part) and I will definitely be making more of my own clothes from now on! All I did was take one of my own skirts, placed it over the blue fabric, traced around it, then cut it out. I then sewed up the sides and placed the lace over it and sewed that at the top. Then I made the waistband and sewed that into the top. For the zipper I took and old white skirt that I never wore and took that zipper and put it on this skirt. Can I just say that zippers are so hard!!! It looks so awful....but it works :)

TADA!!!
I'm pretty proud of myself :)

  2. wow that is awesome! I love sewing now too and I want to do so many more projects. I wanted to do a maxi skirt but haven't found the right fabric. And zippers can be really easy if you have a zipper foot by the way. You may even have one with your machine... Have fun in Hawaii! well I know you will
