Sequins and New Years Eve. Classic.

Thursday, December 31, 2015
I thought I would leave 2015 with a big Sparkly bang outfit this year!! This dress, is actually my beautiful mother's dress! She would wear it when she would sing and perform and would light up any stage with this dazzler! I don't know if I can use the word 'vintage' yet, but this dress has been in my moms closet for about 20 years and still in mint condition! I feel honoured to wear the dress that has seen so many stages and viewed by countless audiences.

For me, 2015 will definitely be a year that we will always remember. It had some high Highs and some serious low Lows. I am very much looking forward to 2016 and leaving 2015 behind us. I hope this next year has some good news. Because we need some good news to happen. This year will be filled with more prayers than every before. SO cheers to a new start, new goals, and new adventures! Have a great night everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

How We Wore It | Sequins

Wednesday, December 16, 2015
Today, I will be doing something a little differently. I have teamed up with a few other beautiful and talented Bloggers to bring you a new series called "How we wore it" where we search for inspiration, whether it be on Pinterest, another blogger, or something that one of us is interested in, and we take that inspiration and make it work in our own way and style! It's so fun!

So todays inspiration is SEQUINS!!!! We got our idea from this photo below:

Link to BLOGGER for this look HERE

Growing up, I always thought Sequins only belonged in the 80's, and it should never return. And it wasn't until I photographed a product clothing line for (Be sure to check out all their stuff, because it's super adorable!) that my love for Sequins was born! They had me photograph these Sequin leggings and I was instantly hooked. They were so sparkly and fashionable. Soon after coming out with Sequin leggings, they came out with this STUNNING SEQUIN SKIRT!! It was in my shopping cart immediately. No questions asked.

And it was perfect for the Holiday Season and New Years! Double Win! So if you're looking for something that will sparkle and make a statement, yet still super comfy to wear, then this skirt is for you! And there are so many options on how to wear this skirt. In fact, a blogger that Im partnering with this Post is in fact wearing that same skirt and is rocking it with a different style!

Ps Thank you Hannah Paige Photography for my photos!

Thrift Store Thursdays | Mixing Patterns

Thursday, November 5, 2015
You know what 3 things I love???

 1) Stripes
 2) Floral
 3) Thrifting

And all three things in one outfit!??? BANG BANG
Oh, and huge, big, shiny sunglasses. Love those too ;)

Mixing patterns can be really hard. But two patterns that I know will always work together and make a really interesting outfit is Stripes and Florals! Any kind of stripe with any kind of floral, it can be done!

I found this skirt at Value Village and I just about died. Long, lined, floral skirts are an obsession of mine. Well, anything floral is an obsession. And Stripes. Those two things are basically what makes up my wardrobe. I should probably branch out more...

Cauliflower Crust Pizza

Thursday, October 29, 2015
Did you ever believe such a thing could exist??
"Cauliflower Crust Pizza"
Ya, I never knew that could ever be a thing. Let alone taste delicious!
If you're on a 'Low Carb' Diet and am needing something that will consume those fast food cravings, then this is the treat for you!
OK so I promised a few of you a Blog Post on this recipe, so here we go!

Ingredients you will need:
1 Head of Cauliflower
1/4 cup of Parmesan
1/4 Mozzarella
1 Egg
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Oragano
1/2 tsp Dried Basil
1/2 tsp Garlic (Either Powder or Minced)
Optional:: You can add Red Pepper Flakes, Rosemary, etc, to give that extra bit of zing to the flavour of your crust.

1) Wash and separate your Cauliflower

2) Since I don't own a Food Processor or a good Blender, I had to Grate my Cauliflower. Takes a while, but this is the longest part of the whole process.
You don't need a full head of Cauliflower. You will probably only need a half. But I chose to grate all of mine just so I could have it ready for the next time I make it. Because Lez-Be Honest, grating sucks, and I don't want to do it again.
Grate enough to make 3 Full Cups.

3) Your Cauliflower should look like 'Rice' in the end.
Put your 3 Cups of Cauliflower into the microwave and Cook for 4 minutes.

4) While that's cooking, combine all the rest of the ingredients into a bowl.

5) FORGOT PICTURE. The next step is SUPER important. You will need a very thin towel or Cheese Cloth. Once it is done in the microwave, let it sit for a good while until its not scolding hot anymore. Then put it into the cloth and squeeze the absolute crab out of that Cauliflower. Tons of water should come out. And once you think you got it all.....move it around in your hands and squeeze again and again! Get that water outa there!

6) Ok, so once that is done, combine all the ingredients. I used a hand mixer to combine mine thoroughly. Once it's well mixed, make it into a ball (like doe) and flatten it onto parchment paper onto a cooking sheet. TIP:: Be sure to PAM the Parchment for extra stick free-ness.

7) Cook at 450 for 11 minutes or until slight golden. Take out of the oven and add whatever ingredients you like! Everyone loves something different so go for it!
Once everything is added on, cook for another 7 minutes.

A DELICIOUS low carb Pizza Substitute.

SIDE NOTE: The ingredients above will make a pizza about the size of a SMALL regular Pizza.

The Milkmaid

Sunday, October 4, 2015
Fall is here!!!! I LOVE Autumn. Love love love love it! Sometimes all I want to do is cuddle up in a nice big sweater and thick socks and drink my hot chocolate under a snuggly blanket. And with, Fall, I get to do that everyday!!

Here Im sporting a kind of MilkMaid Inspired look. I went a little out of my comfort zone and did this milkmaid wrap around braid. I usually don't do hair styles like this because I think my face is too round for it. But I am currently obsessed with braids and love how they give that extra little something to a hair do!

I hope everyone is enjoying this weather before it all blows away!

The Reason

Wednesday, September 23, 2015
This is not a good year for us.

So as most of you would have figured out by the lack of excitement over here, Maikal didn't get into school this year. We did absolutely everything we could to get in, but I guess it just wasn't our year. Ever since then, we've had this mentality, or at least I have, of Why??? What is the Reason we did not get in??? We know 100% why we did not get in last year. We needed to be here for family through an extremely hard time in our lives. I am very grateful that we didn't get an acceptance last year. Obviously we didn't know why at the time, but we know now.

Is something major going to happen again? Either good or bad?? Do we need to be here for some important reason in order for our lives to be on the right track?
Or is it simply just bad luck or bad timing?
Why God? Why have we been delayed yet another year from our future and our plans?? Maikal knows that he is suppose to be a dentist. He knows that that is the right path and occupation for him.

I was ready. We were ready to just pack up and leave if Maikal got in last minute. We were so sure we would get in. When I got that phone call that the decision was final and we weren't going anywhere, my heart sank. This is just a year of bad news for us.

But something kind of weird/good happened only 1 hour after I got that phone call from Maikal. Ben's speech therapist called and informed us that Ben has a spot waiting for him at Preschool if we wanted it. I wanted to put him in, but was unsure of our future plans, so I didn't give a second thought of putting him in. I of course said Yes immediately and got everything set up right away. I guess I've never mentioned this before, but yes Ben is delayed in his speech and has been going to therapy for a few months now. He has improved so much and it makes my heart happy to see how well hes growing and how much more we are able to communicate with each other. It's so nice. Preschool will help him grow socially and they have a speech therapist right there for him so he keep getting special help. I can't believe I already have a kid in school!! So weird!

AND right after that, my cousin came over and asked if Maikal was looking for a job. Yes he is! He got a job working on Wind Turbines up in Provost. So I've been single momming it for the past few weeks. And it will be like this until Dec, which is when the project ends. But with Ben in school, I've been able to handle everything so well. I thought I would die without Maikals help, but everything is going so smoothly and easy for me. Such a blessing!

So within a few hours of getting such heart wrenching news, we were blessed with two amazing opportunities. I feel so looked after. So cared for. Knowing that we are still in God's care and is giving us what we need right now. We may not know the answer to why our lives arent going the way we planned, but all we can do is keep trying and keep our heads up. We will get there, eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Jumper :: Reitmans

Booties :: Sold out (Similar HERE and HERE)

So the other weekend, I was up North filming my cousins wedding and I was staying at a Hotel with my other lovely cousin. When she walked through the door, she had shopping bags from Reitmans. I don't know about all of you, but when I think of Reitmans, I think of professional clothing, work place attire, mature, conservative clothing. I never thought it was really my style unless I needed something for work. So I've just never gone in there for years. When she opened up her bags to show me all these amazing sales that she got, I was blown away by what came out of that bag. Her things were adorable, cute, stylish, and trendy! And all on sale! I decided in that moment that I needed to march myself right into my Reitmans back home and see what they've got!

Personally when I shop, I head straight to the Sale rack first, then I continue forward to other things. I couldn't believe their selection! It was so adorable and totally my style. I've always wanted a jumper. I really like how they look and they are easy to dress up or down. I saw this little number as I was walking out the door and had to go back and try it on! It is soooo comfy. The only downside is that it is super annoying to go to the bathroom. But, I can deal with that haha.

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
